Fantastic Caverns, MO
We went to Fantastic Caverns near Springfield, MO on Tuesday. This cavern has a jeep that pulls trailers behind through the caverns. It is great for people that don't want or are unable to walk through caves. This cave had a speakeasy in it during prohibition. There is still a stage inside the cave. Here are some of the pictures that I took.
Yesterday was our anniversary. We went to the Dixie Stampede here in Branson. Since it is December they had a Christmas theme show. It was so amazing. I loved the nativity scene part of the show, that was my favorite. They brought in sheep, goats, camels, chickens and of course, the beautiful horses during the show. It was very entertaining, the food was good, and we had a great time. I also got a flower from one of the horse riders because our side (the North) won a game. So nice of the horseman to throw it to me.

Snow in Hollister, MO
Well, we came down south to miss the snow up north. LOL, it just didn't happen. A big cold front has hit the whole country and we have snow. Can't have snow without getting out in it so here are the pictures.

Hollister, MO
Left Little Rock, AR a couple of days ago. We had a great campsite at Maumelle RV Park while we were there. Camped next to the Arkansas River. Pictures in the morning and then that night with the full moon.
While we were in Little Rock, we spent a lot of time visiting my father and wife. We spent Thanksgiving with my family here at Julie and Don's house. Great food! I also had to go to the doctor and have another basil cell carcinoma cut off my chest. Really hoping I don't get any more of those, but know my odds aren't good at this point.
So we are camped at Turkey Creek RV Park here in Hollister. The campground is right next to Turkey Creek. This is an Escapee park and they even have a boat ramp here. We plan on being here for the next month or so. We must have picked up a lot of ladybugs at Maumelle. We have taken outside at least 2 dozen ladybugs that were inside the trailer. We are hoping that we got them all.
I have decorated our rig for Christmas. Even though we really can't add anything to the rig, I have bought a new crock pot. It is ideal for cooking larger dinners than the small one I have. We also got a Christmas present. Hope it is something we can use. I am under strict orders from "Mom" to not open until Christmas. So here are pictures of our trailer decorated.
Here are the stockings I made.

Little Rock, Arkansas
We are in Little Rock, AR!!! So far, it's been great. I have been able to visit with my father and his wife, Michael. She is wonderful!
One of the first things we did was visit the Old Mill Park. This old mill is a replica of an old working mill. The park was dedicated in 1933. The mill does have some original parts inside. This mill was shown in the opening credits of "Gone With the Wind". This park is very pretty and really interesting.

Yesterday we went on a paddle boat ride on the Mark Twain. This took us up and down a small section of the Arkansas River. Did you know that the Arkansas River ties into the Mississippi River? Here is us with my parents.
Here is a picture of the Clinton Presidential Library as seen from the Mark Twain. It's right behind the bridge. Looks like a mobile home hanging out in the air.

Mammoth Cave National Park, KY
After the horse park, we came down to see Mammoth Cave. There is a campground right next to the visitor's center and we stayed there. It is strictly dry camping. There are deer in the park everywhere. They are not afraid of people or Starr! I felt someone or something staring at me and turned around and it was a deer.
Here's the entrance to the cave.
We were there on Halloween and how's this for a scary picture? Sure looks like the cave was looking out at us.
There was also bats in the cave!!!
There was a pack rat there making her nest for the next two months. I wasn't able to get a picture of her. But rats in the cave too!!!!
So here are a couple of pictures of the formations in the cave. These are from the Frozen Niagara Tour.
And here are some pictures from the past mining they did for salt peter. Once the war of 1812 was over, they just walked away from the mining operation. The "pipes" are made from trees. They just hollowed out the centers.
Kentucky Horse Park
After Indiana, we went down to the Kentucky Horse Park. We were able to stay at the campgrounds there for several days. The first day there was a competition for horses and riders. They had various "games" that they completed on their horses. There were teams of four and each group had to do things such as putting a cup on a post. One of the games was having the rider run down on the horse, jump off and grab something off the ground, jump back on the horse and then put the item on a post. They also had to pass off the an item for the next player. I don't think I am explaining it very well, but it was exciting to watch. Watching those people vault onto their horses - wow, better athlete than me, that's for sure.
The next day we went around and saw the various museums around the grounds. So much to see and do there. Here are a few pictures.

The statue above with Jeff is Man O'War. The pictures of us on horses was a photo shop thing.
Elkhart, IN and Amish Country
We picked up things to change in our RV in Topeka, IN. We also took a factory tour. The best thing is that we still really like our fifth wheel and plan to keep it for some time. This is Amish country and we saw lots of horse and buggies traveling down the road. I was amazed that these horses don't walk anywhere. They trot. I thought it was pretty cool of Walmart to provide the horse and buggies with a special place to park.
We were also in Elkhart. I liked the painted elk they had all around the city. Here is a couple of my favorites.
This one above is at the RV/MH Hall of Fame. As you can see from the picture below, Jeff picked up a new girlfriend there. I think she told him she would share her cigars and let him win at poker.
The most unusual thing I saw at the Hall of Fame was this bathtub in a trailer.
