On our Way!

We left Park Sierra on Sunday.  Whoo hoo, we made it as far as Bakersfield!  Stayed at Camping World.  Made it in about 9:00 pm.  It was a good thing as we were able to get a couple of things accomplished.  Monday we traveled to Mesquite, NV.  We stayed in a dirt lot behind the Virgin River Casino.  It is completely fenced in back there.  In case you are wondering, we had management approval.  I am pulling our boat behind my car right now.  Traveling has been quite an experience.  Lots of road construction along the way.  Both Jeff and I have been avoiding orange cones (the big round ones that look like trash cans).  Then we went to a Love's truck stop.  More construction!!  There we both had to avoid more of those big cones and pot holes.  Unfortunately, Jeff wasn't able to avoid any of the potholes.  I was able to miss two.  Tuesday night we made it to Grand Junction, CO.  We are staying in the KOA here.  We have already been in the pool.  Just resting today.

We will head out towards Cheyenne tomorrow.  Our goal for this trip is to make it to Gillette, WY.  We will be staying for an Escapee rally there.

Our last pictures of Park Sierra

We took off from Park Sierra last Sunday.  Before we left, I did get some good pictures the day before.

Note the quail on the rock.

Thought this was an interesting picture of the quail hiding between the branches.

More Pics of Park Sierra

Here are pictures of the baby and adult quail.  As you can see, the babies have gotten much bigger.  And, I even got a picture of that gray squirrel showing off his tail.

We have been here about a month now.  Plan on heading out on Sunday for Wyoming!

Still here in Park of the Sierras

We are still here at the SKP park.  Wow, the heat here last weekend was over 100!  Hot, hot, hot!!  My Bakersfield friends suffered more though.  Jeff and I went to Huntington Lake on Saturday - it was a cool 84 deg. there.  I did take an interesting picture of this tree.  Jeff thought it looked like a butt - what do you think?

This morning when I took my walk with Starr, I saw four different families of quail.  The chicks have all gotten much bigger.  Too bad I didn't have my camera with me.  I did take some pictures of our walk yesterday though.  Got some jays, one woodpecker, and a rabbit.

The best picture though is the wild animal that Starr had a stare down with.  Can you guess what this is?

It's just a feral cat.  It sure let Starr get close to it though.

Until next time...
