More Crosslake Photos

Took some pictures of the lake next to our campground today.  On the other side of the dam, caught a blue heron.

I have to be sure and add these pictures of the deer we snapped just outside our RV.

Can't forget baby.

Crosslake

Hard to believe we have been here for a week already.  We went over to Brainerd to buy groceries and Emily to a great meat market.  Sounds so exciting, I know.  We went out in the boat one day and toured just the one lake.  There are about 5 or 6 of them connected from what I understand.  We even rode our bicycles into town (LOL - it's right across the street).  I did take a picture of a stick bug and a deer that was right in our campsite.

Bye for now.

Fishing at Lake Itasca State Park

We have been out fishing in the boat.  What fun just riding around the lake and then onto the really fun part - the fishing!  First picture is all the people at the Mississippi headwaters.

Jeff fishing - what will he catch?

We both caught a large mouth bass.  Then we went to Lake Ozawindib and caught lots of sunfish.  I sure do think they are a pretty fish.

And an eagle that I caught just as he started to fly out of the tree.  This was in Mary's Lake.

Mississippi Headwaters

The Mississippi River starts from Lake Itasca, MN.  We rode our bicycles from our campsite today to the headwaters.  I was brave enough to walk across the river.  Look how deep that water is!  (You are supposed to laugh when you see the picture)

On a different note, here is what I have been working on during my free time.  This is a tablecloth for our fifth wheel that I have embroidered.

Paul Bunyan, Lucette, and Other Things in Minnesota

We saw Lucette in Hackensack.  She is Paul Bunyan's wife.  We finally caught up with Paul and Babe in Bemidji.  There was even a Paul Jr. in Hackensack.  I think they make the perfect couple.

We are currently staying in Lake Itasca State Park.  It is a really nice campground and we were lucky to get a spot here.  We have been fishing in quite a few lakes around.  We caught some fish in St. Lawrence Lake near Outing, MN.  Yesterday we fished from Fish Hook River in Park Rapids, MN.  That was after we had attended Legends Logging Days.  Jeff won the axe throwing contest.  He is holding his trophy.

We will be in this state park for another week.  We have been to the Mississippi headwaters.  A person can actually walk across the river there.  Here is the view from our campsite.  That is Lake Itasca.

Until next time!
